When you re-direct a message from one extension to other it ask's for three letters of last name to tranfer message.Where is the setting to just be able to enter extension number to re-direct messages.

Try pressing ## to be prompted for the extension.

Thanks pguerrero,that does work.But I think there is a way to cut that option off other than # #.

i'm thinking it's in the settings of the mailbox

(don't have one in front of me to be sure)

on the elitemail there is an option in the user directory

ctrl-d
go to the mailbox you want to access b exts
ctrl-e
a for access codes

see if there is an option to address messages by ext. if so turn it on

this is what it says for elitemail:
Address Messages by Extension
Subscriber leaves messages by extension number instead of the first three letters of the
recipient last name.

i don't have an ad8 manual to look at

You can add the letter "E" on the access string in each subscriber box.
