We just installed a NEC Aspire and I have few questions in regards to functionality, any help would be appreciated.

Conference call: We have admin assistants who cover calls for other users. Is it possible to park or hold a conference call so another user can pick it up?

CID on intercom calls, scenario: Mary has a virtual key for Bobs extension, John calls Bob but Mary doesn't see any caller ID information on her display. This causes an issue because admin a picking up some calls that they don't need to. Caller ID is working for all other calls.

Thanks

The Aspire is much like the IPKII I have been told. I believe the IPKII was developed from the Aspire. I don't have first-hand Aspire experience but I have much on the IPKII.

Via the web admin you should be able to go through the caller-id wizard to verify that "caller-id through" mode is enabled and also the virtual may have to be programmed to actually "ring" on Mary's phone and not just have a visual flashing appearance. This should be located in the station programming section.

Also, park keys can be mapped to the phones "park 1", "park 2", etc. and then you can place the phones in a park group. Simply pressing an unlit park key while on a call puts the caller on hold and all other users with that park key will see it lit and can retrieve the call. There should also be a "park wizard" as well.

If I am way off base, and no one else replys to this post, you can always talk to Brian at
They provide free phone support to their customers. Just say Phil w/ Comtel referred you.

Other than that, you can go here to find a vendor if you don't already have one.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the response Phil.

I have been looking through the programming and I don't see a " caller-id through" mode.

I have Park keys set up and they work fine for all calls except when on a conference call.

ah, I misunderstood. I have worked with a lot of systems and I don't recall one in which you can place a conference call on hold that someone else can pick up when using the systems built in conference feature, however...

When using a carriers conference function the system sees you as only being connected to a single trunk and will allow you to park the call.
