NEC aspire paging issue

Have a customer with an NEC Aspire they started having paging problems, they had XM radio as a music source playing in overhead speakers in the store which worked fine when paging, now they have done away with that and now using a laptop with spotify for music and now when they make a page they get horrible feedback. They took it upon themselves to make this change and when i ask what did you do i get the head scratch saying we didnt do anything except hook up the lap top. What do i need to do?

Put the other device back on and see if the problem still exists..
If not then the issue will be with the output of the new laptop.

My personal guess is that they have the microphone input on the laptop enabled and mixed with the spotify output. If that's the case, they could either disable the mic device or remove it in the mixer configuration.

Thanks for the help, i will be going there first thing friday morning i will check and see.

The issue may be that rather than it being a line level input, it's now a headphone level (amplified) input.
