Hi Guys
About a year ago we took on the maintenance of an NEC Aspire, the previous maintenance company refused to reveal their password so we got a guy who specialises in NEC's out to default the password for us. He also loaded the ASPIRE 7.01 onto my laptop etc. and everything was hunky dory. Today I tried to login and I get "Invalid username/password", spent about an hour tinkering but no joy, its not accepting the default password on the phone programming either.
So my logic is 4 possible scenarios:
1. Original installer dialled in out of malice and reset password.
2. Password has reverted to old password somehow.
3. Password has become corrupted.
4. I am doing something wrong on the login.

The guy who helps us out on the Aspire is on annual leave for the next 2 weeks so I can't get him in till he is back. There's no rush to access the system but its bugging me why I cant get in. I can ping the IP address and the Aspire programming tool loads but refuses to connect with "Invalid username/password".
The user name is in the right case and I have tried typing the password into notepad first and then cutting and pasting it into the password field.
I normally deal with SV8100's and this Aspire is bugging me!
Any pointers?

Cheers.

Have you tried turning it off then on again!

Just to add I did cycle the power to the system to see if that resolved it but no joy.

Have you tried turning it off then on again!

I am more familiar with the 8100, but they are almost the same. The log in and password is case sensitive. If you tried it every way you can, then, I vote option 1. After getting the password reset, 1. did you change it? 2. did you restrict remote access? 3. did you perform a database back up to a removable drive? If you performed a back up with the password defaulted, then you can default the system and load the back up. If you didn't, then you may have to get NEC to default the password again.

Plenty of backups so it's not a problem in that respect.
It was the default password and no we didn't change the remote access, but I will do once we can get back in!

Have you tried turning it off then on again!
