I'm trying to link a NEC Aspire 6.2.1 with a ISDN PRI trunk to a Avaya Communication Manager. I know the Avaya side very well, but am lacking on the NEC Aspire side. From what I understand, this is a older NEC and may be limited in it's functionality.

We have tried connecting them together using DS1 boards, but the NEC vendor is stating that it is not compatible with the point to point with roll over cable Avaya QSIG trunk.

We're just trying to put a simple and dirty connection between the two pbx's (same physial room) for connetivity. Any thoughts for consideration? I have access to the NEC and Avaya.

Thanks,

One or the other system needs the PRI set to "network". In this case it would have to be the Avaya system since the NEC cannot do it. The network setting emulates the CO so they can communicate. I do not believe the NEC can do Q-Sig.

Thanks much for the reply. We'll give it a test.
