We have a few users that pickup the handset and hear a couple beeps. They do not have any voice mail. Do the beeps mean there's voicemail on another mailbox, if so, how do you know which mailbox?
Is there a way to disable that "feature"? I ask because all of our desk phones forward on busy/no answer conditions to voice mail. So everyone's dial tone stutters when the handset is picked up. Personally I find it annoying and would only like to hear it if my phone is in an "all call" forwarded condition.
I am not aware of a way to disable the tone. It's there to remind the user that their phone is forwarded. There are memory blocks in the system that allow changing tones, but NEC always suggests contacting them before modifying them.
