NEC 2000 IVS2 and MATWorX - please help me

I have a NEC 2000 IVS2 and I recently swapped extensions by using MATWorx. When I did, it killed the existing fax line. The other line was useless, so I deleted it. All I need is the fax line. This extension rings busy all the time. I have checked it with a toner to verify the line is associated to the correct LEN. I have tried deleting it in MATWorx and recreating a new station as a single line station for the same extension the fax is on, but it still rings busy when I try to call it. Any ideas?

try removing all devices from the len and see that the line is OK from the PABX frame. Also, look at CMD E50, make sure the extension hasn't been busied out. If all is OK in E50, the extension should be set to 1, if it is 0, change it to 1.

Tried it, didn't work. Any other ideas anyone? I have removed all devices from the LEN twice. The other command (E50) was already set to 1. Is there any way this could be a conflict between moving from an analog line to digital and vice versa? If so, how do I correct this issue?

What do you mean "analog to digital"?
A fax line should always be an analog circuit, at least in North America.
You must ensure you are assigning the station to the correct piece of hardware.
Have you confirmed the LT slot the LEN resides on has an LC card of some sort?
If it is a DLC card (Digital line card) you will never pull dial tone.
And if your using MATworx Studio your a brave soul.
You should use MATworx32 (IPS). It is supported on all IVS2 and IPS platforms.

Actually, I like MATWorX Studio alot. It has its quirks, but as long as you do things in proper sequence, it doesn't give me any problems. Long story short - I'm REALLY new to the phone system game, I'm normally a hardware / software computer guy. I didn't even know a fax was always analog ( a good thing to know, don't you think? ) So - Ive got a spare LEN, and I need to check whether it is analog or digital. I assume it is digital because a DTerm phone was assigned to it before. If it is digital, then how do I know which LEN's are analog? I do have a toner I can use to race out the lines if I have to.

Look at the numbers you have "swapped" in CM 10. If there is an "F" in front of the number then it is programmed as a DTerm.

If the LEN you are assigning the station to is on an LC card it is analog port. If the LEN you are assigning the station to is a DLC card it is a digital (Dterm) port.
E.g. 4LCD-A card is a 4 port analog card. 8LCAA is an 8 port analog card. 4DLCQ is 4 port digital card. 8DLCP is an 8 port digital line card.
Also MATorx 32 IPS would not alow this type of station swap as it checks the station types before execution. Another reason to stay away from the memory hog MATworx Studio.

Thanks for the help guys. I have checked it all out and figured out the problem. It was indeed a LEN on a Digital card in my PBX. We only have 16 analog lines coming into the system, and so the simply was not a a free analog LEN to switch it to. I wound up moving things around on the block to get it straight. Thanks again for all the help.
