Hello Fellow NEC Techs,
I'm a seasoned veteran on the NEC Elite 192, IPK, IPK II SV8100 and SV9100. I was wondering if anyone here could give me a crash course on DSS Button Console programming on an NEC 2000 IPS? Here the things I think I would need to know:

1) How to access programming from a phone.
2) Guessing I'll need to find out what port number the extension and it's DSS Console resides on?
3) What program I need to access to program the DSS' keys.
4) What commands I'll need to program the buttons as "One Touch Dials" to the outside? (i.e. 9 + Number)

Any info is appreciated.

Thanks,
-Iron

TRF + CNF + * + TRF + CNF + #
REDIAL
97 + recall + 00 (first dss/blf console) , (comma) + dss/blf button number (starts with 00) recall + input your data + CNF to write data.
All of this is very cumbersome, but doable.

Hi belevedere,
Thanks, this is what I ended up doing:

NEC 2000 IPS Phone Programming
Transfer, Conf *
Transfer, Conf #
Redial, 03
Recall, 7
Recall, (Our Password)
Conf (Will see "OK")
Redial
Command= <Enter Command>

I read that you can only have so many DSS One Touch (To the outside world), so I opt'd for virtual extensions. In my particular case I needed 56 of em'! I then did:

Virtual Extension Assignment
11, Recall (I started at 0000 thru 0056 - They were all NOT assigned for me)
0000, Recall
7801, Conference, Speaker
7802, Conference, Speaker...
All the way up to 7856.

I then programmed the DSS Console Buttons:
DSS Button Programming
97, recall
00 transfer (DSS Console Number)
00 recall (DSS Console Button)
Enter in the virtual extension of 7801, then Conf, Speaker, and repeated thru 7856.

Then I did a "Call Forward All" for those virtual extensions, to do that I did:

Call Forward All
(Line Key 5 = E) E600, Recall
7801 recall
9, trans, then my outside number, Conference, speaker (Which took me to 7802 - and repeat to 7856)

<Whew> As you said.....cumbersome, but I got it!

Thanks,
-Iron
