Does anyone else constantly have problems with the AD-64 Voice Mail having too many prompts when listening to VM? Since we have implemented this system almost everyone says that it takes twice as long to listen to all their vm..

Some examples include:

1) When you first log into your mail box it states you name (Can that be eliminated?? ) then "Remember for the main menu enter star, to move back a menu enter pound" (Again, can that be eliminated?? )

2) When listening to a message you cannot act on the message. You have to press 0 then the option you want for the message. Is there a way to just let the user press the desired option while listening to the message??

3) Is there a way for the VM box to sort messages by the time they were left for ALL messages. It happens when they are messages from outside callers, but when another person on the system leaves you a message it groups them separately...

4) Is there a way to set the vm system to not tell you how left the message (right now it tell the person who left the message before they even listen to the message)

Any help is once again appreciated.

1) Go to Subscriber > Access Options and check the Hands free Message Retrieval box. This is per mailbox

2) you are stuck

3) AD64 should sort first in first out regardless

4) Uncheck the play timestamp box in access options. This is per mailbox.

2) We have the same setup (we use Dterm Series i phones) we can do many options while listening to messages such as:
Repeat message 3#
Save as new 30
Check the next 35
Delete (my personal favorite) 36
Archive a message 37
Hear time message was sent 38
Redirect message 39
Exit quickly *

We do not have to press "0" for options. So there must be a way but I can't tell you. I still am waiting for training...

3)Ours is grouped like yours. Internal first then External not by order of calls.

1) We just implemented our NEC switch and voicemail this past week. Already people are irritated on how long it takes just to get to the messages. Some have already memorized the commands so they just press the options before its even said.

2) One of our options is to press "1" to go to the end of the message. Once there, we can act on the message. We, too, have many options while listening to a message.

Since we just implemented the system, I'll be watching the forum more and more.

Ask you vendor if he can put the softkey integration on for you. Your people might like that better.

I would, but I have too many outside sales reps that use our vm system that are completely dissatisfied. This seems like such a simple and obvious needed option.

If anyone else has any other options please let us know..

Thanks
