Good afternoon.

We are having problems accessing a NEAX MAIL system using the remote access number. When you dial the number, instead of being prompted for the security code and password, the system says "I'm going to ask several questions. After each, please reply". On-site users can retrieve their messages by just dialing the 4 digit extension (the last 4 digits of the remote access number) without a problem. I don't think anyone was working on the system recently and the LEC confirmed that the number is being routed through the correct PRI to our office. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank-you very much.

The VM is playing the default questions in the interview MB. Verify that the VM is in the day mode and not in night or alternate mode. You may have an old calendar setting keeping it in night mode.

Thank you for responding! Big favor to ask - since I work 2.5 hours away from this site, I will have to ask someone there to fix this since I can't do it remotely. Can you refer me to the instructions to make the change you described? All I can find is a generic user guide. Thank-you.

If you know who has administration rights, just have them log in normally and after inputting their security code, press 0 to get to Administration options. Follow the prompts.

Good morning, Mr.B! I had a user at the site login to the voicemail with the system ad extension and password. The remote access mailbox was using the alternate greeting,so I had her switch it to the day greeting. However, nothing is recorded on the day greeting, so when I called the number there was silence and the line disconnected. What is the correct greeting to use? (I have a feeling that someone here accidently rebuilt this mailbox by mistake... and it wasn't me! :)) Any suggestions? Thank-you so much for your help. I'm really puzzled as to what to do now. Should I just delete the mailbox and rebuild it?

Just use the same procedure to record a new day greeting. No need to make it more difficult.
