Hello all,
I need help with learning more about the 2400 quickly, as we are switching over to Avaya in the next couple months. I need to figure out all the info I need to get out of the switch to give to Avaya so they can program the new system.
Trouble is, I know some basics (moves, adds, changes) but not much past that. I've been trying to use the NEC manuals for the last 6 months to keep the system running, but they talk over my head when it goes past basic stuff.
Current setup has the 2400 serial linked to an Avaya Modular Messaging system. Using MAT to admin switch.
I don't have anyone in my company to ask and I cannot hire anyone. Any help would be appreciated more than you can know.
Thank you, everybody.

simple rule of thumb (well mostly) is substitute the first letter of the command with an L and you will get a programme that lets you list up the settings for that command. Although why you would want to replace the IMX is beyond me.

Hi Ozzie,
Thanks for the tip. That's actually one of the few things that I've figured out.
I should have also said that most of my background is in desktop/network support, so I'm trying to get an overview of how the system works and what all the parts do.
I'm a visual person, so I'm drawing a diagram of the system. Showing the PRIs coming in, where they go, what the NEC does with them, and how they go out. How the routes, trunks, etc work. Trying to find a good tutorial online of how the system works in a nutshell.
We use the NEC to manage our ISDN videoconferencing also, so I'm trying to get a mental picture on how that works. One issue I haven't be able to figure out is why we can't connect when we dial out to any long distance ISDN. I've been working with our long distance carrier to troubleshoot for 2 weeks now and I just want to make sure it's nothing in our system that's causing the problem.
Thanks again.

If you want to follow how you dial out follow this trail

ASPA
AFRS
AOPR
AADC (if there is digit addition)
ARSC
ATDP

Good luck.
