Hey guys, we are having a problem here with incoming calls getting dropped and going to a fast busy signal. I have contacted our provider and they told me there were no issues on their end. My question is aside from a system reset, what other troubleshooting can I do myself on the switch. I have a medium level of experience with the system but have never had this problem before. Thanks.

What kind of trunking do you have?
If it's digital (PRI/T-1) then turn on the alarms in CMD EA2 to track the errors. That might help.

It actually turned out to be a call measurement issue but thanks for the info. I will remember that for future troubleshooting.

I'm courious how a call measurement issue can cause dropped calls. Can you explain what happened to your system? I also have an IPS and if I ever run into dropped calls, it would be good to know what to check for.

mmilla - I would be interested to know as well. I am having the exact same problems

You know guys unfortunately they did not respond to me as to why they were dropping calls. All they told me was they had a problem and that they were getting it fixed. But I will say this. Every time I have had a problem with dropped calls it was always a provider issue with a circuit or a T1 and they always get it fixed. Therefore, when I have an issue with dropped calls I always go to the provider first. Although I know the day will come where it will be a switch issue then I will be in big trouble.
