Does the NEAX 2000 IPS need a seperate card for SMDR output? We have a IVS2, and they sold us a seperate card, but I have read a lot about "Built-In" SMDR, and I was wondering if we really need the extra card.

Thanks,

Ken

You can get SMDR out of the bottom port of the CPU. Set this up with command 4000. It is only available in 2400 format( hard to read)

You alson need a good call acounting program to recieve and organise the SMDR.

dontworx,

I have rolled my own call accounting before for the Definity system. I just don't know how to get the data out of the IVS2. Here is a faq on how I wrote the definity data to SQL, if interested: faq690-2462

Thanks,

You can do that if you wish, but I would rather buy a prepackaged call acounting software that organises all of the data for me and makes it easy to add new accounts. that is just my opinion. Have fun either way!

Do you have a suggestion for a call accounting package that will allow us to get granular (by that I mean run specific reports on data using crystal or something robust) and doesn't cost more than $3000? I havent been able to find it. My time is valuable, but they want way too much money for these systems that dont do anything (Ultimate). and we have multiple sites, which so far Ive found that you have to buy mulitple copies.

Thanks!

Try Tapit or trysis. I don't think you will pay more than between $800-$1500
