Morning all,
1st time poster long time reader.

I am attempting a favour for a mate of mine. He has inherited a NEAC7400 ICS PABX and wants to adjust a simple programming feature. There is a Dterm Director 16DD handset which has programmed feature keys which the user references to monitor the status of particular internal extensions. The request to is reprogram one of these keys to "monitor" a different internal extension.

I have acquired the programming manual from the interwebs, and tend to believe it is commands 74 or 90 that I should be looking at, but it is a little foreign to me.

Can anyone share a little knowledge on the process to undertake this re-program from the handset itself.

Thanks all

Welcome!@

The command you are looking for is 90 however it gets referred to as 9000 a lot around the forums as it is actually 90yy and 9000 is where you assign the values to the keys. Command 9001 is used if you want to disable the ringing for that key and 9003 for delayed ringing. The format for the command entry is ST 90yy de extn No "," key No de (enter new data) exe

I placed the , in quotation marks because it isn't there for punctuation, you have to actually enter a comma between the station number and the key number and you get the comma by pressing the transfer key.

Have a look at how it is currently programmed and get back to us but you may also want to check out the FAQs here.

Hi OzzieGeorge,
Thanks for the reply. I have tried your instructions and getting a data entry message on the LCD of the 16DD handset.
Below is the key sequence I am using

TRF LNR * TRF LNR #

9000 recall
246 , 1 recall

I then get a data error message.

264 is the ext & 1 is the key number I am experimenting with?

what am i missing

Sorry I should have been clearer. I tried both 1 & 01 as the key number

You put 246 then 264 are you sure what the number of the Dterm is?

yeah right...typo in one of them...the extension is 264. However this is the ext i am trying to monitor...not the extension of the dterm i am trying to program.

If I have to enter the dterm ext to start with it changes everything.....obviously!!

I am in north Qld mate...and you?

okay...so now that I enter the ext of the handset I am programming, and not the extension i am trying to monitor. I no longer get a data error, and it displays data, and allows me to change it. However when I just enter 264 the extension i want to monitor, it accepts the details, and when I press the the button it displays 264...but doesn't call it nor display line status.

What am i doing wrong.

I'm in Perth!

You have set a line appearance and you would be able to see when the extension is busy (the key will turn red) However it seems you want a DSS key and that is a little more complicated. However there is an FAQ for this so I will refer you to that, See here......

yeah you are right, it does actually display status. Have found the Dterm handset also rings when monitored ext rings as well.

I had read that FAQ prior to posting, wasn't really sure if it was what i was looking for so decided to post.

As this handset already has programed DSS keys, is it safe to assume #1-5 of the FAQ are already in place.

The rest of the FAQ means nothing to me unfortunately.

How are the DSS numbers allocated
1 2
3 4 etc etc

If that is the case I need key 16 to be re-programmed to ext 264? What would the program sequence be?

Perth is a cool city....spent a few weeks in M River as well just recently...loved it!!

Sorry I had to do some work for a change.

If the other keys are set as DSS keys then it will just be a case of changing the key data to match the station's speed dials to the key number. So as speed dial keys are assigned using F11xx where xx is the speed dial bin (or location if that makes more sense to you), this means that if you want the DSS key on key 16, you would assign it a value of F1116. You then store the extension number in that speed dial bin.

However, have a look at the other keys, if they aren't set to F11xx then the odds are they are just line appearances the same as you just set. If so and all you want is to stop it ringing just use Cmd 9001.

Things will be a lot easier with a Feature programming manual, In America the ICS 120 is known as the NEAX 2000 IVS (not to be confused with the IVS2) and the Feature programming manual is a guide you by the nose type guide.

I ended up just disabling the ringing. After querying the user some more they don't actually use their existing DSS keys as speed dials, they are just status monitors. So the programming I did yesterday combined with silent ring is all that is needed.

Thanks heaps for your help.

Really appreciate it.
