Hi

Have recently installed Exchange 2003 upon Server 2000, into a new company that did not have exchange before. Exchange is running on the master controller for the company. Everyone can log in and use exchange with no problems. All seems to be working ok.

But some of the users are getting Non Delivery Reports. On some email messages.

The reports are in the following formats:

The following recipient(s) could not be reached: info@suspa-dsi.de on 16/07/2004 14:48
There was a SMTP communication problem with the recipient's email server. Please contact your system administrator.
<maildywid.Dywid.co.uk #5.5.0 smtp;554 <info@suspa-dsi.de>: Relay access denied>

Some of the messages are trying to go to addresses that are very similiar to the company local address Dywid.co.uk. I need to understand what is causing these problems, is it a problem with the new server or is the problem at the other side of the internet?

Any information gratefully received.

Thanks

I know its of no use but if the MTA server from the delivery domain is giving this then it would suggest all is ok at you side. How are you SMTP connectors setup?

Its just the standard SMTP connector setup, nothing special has been done to it. The address space is the standard * with a cost of one.

Is there anything I should be looking for. I have checked the microsoft websites, but they do not give me information I can understand.

My knowledge of Exchange begins to struggle at this point.

Mind you my knowledge begins to struggle anyway!
