Can I jump version levels or do i have to build it up. Eg I have a system that's at version 2, can just upgrade it to 8 or do i have to go through the other levels?

You can go straight to version 8. Some country's require re-registering the system dsys file
You will need the latest programming tool and upgrade the dsys file to v8
