I am fairly new with Win 2k and would appreciate help with the following....
My server is set up as a standalone domain. when I ping the domain name from a client, a different IP address from the one I statically assigned is actualley pinged. Why is this so and how do I rectify this?

On running nbtstat –n, one of the entries appears with a conflict. This entry is for the server itself.
THESERVERNAME <03> UNIQUE Conflict

The server occassionally acts up especially with regard to shared folders and intranet. Sometime users are locked and only works again when the computers are restarted or on flushing the DNS. Please advise?

Yes, DHCP is being issued correctly. However, periodically clients are unable to access network recources and intranet sites. I previously looked at this article and it does not provide much with regard to rectifying the conflict. How do I rectify the conflict. Thanks?
