Hi:

Can't seem to shake this one...I've tried every fix on MS Knowledge Base (corrupt Installer) and Symantec's Site. Happens at the very end of what looks like a very smoothe install. That error message pops up and when I close the dialog box, the program rolls back....well sort of, it leaves files and a couple of apps like live update behind. Help, I told my Mother In Law it would be a smooth install...done it many times on our coprorate network. Suggestions?

Is anything else running on the machine while you are installing?
I am assuming it is an original copy of the software.

What operating system are you installing on?

HI:

Win98SE I've closed all other apps in MSConfig and am running a clean boot...this is frustrating.

Can you install anything else from the CDROM?
I would double check to make sure the CDROM is working properly before going too far.
If the drive is dirty could give you problems.
