NAT and Private IP Schemes on External Port 1

SBC just installed a Cayman 3546 ADSL router. I have 5 static IP addresses. The Wan port of the DSL router holds the public IP address and the LAN port is setup (preconfigured) to use a 192.168.x.x scheme. I would like to bridge the Wan port so that the public IP address is also assigned to the LAN port, and then add the additional static IP address routes. SBC will not offer any support on this, stating that I should use NAT to map the public addresses to the 192.168.x.x scheme and then use NAT on the Firebox II to map to my private network.

Does anyone know how to either bridge the address on the router or, failing that, change the config on the firewall to accept the 192.168.x.x scheme on the external port of the Firebox II?

I need to move fairly quickly on this, so any information would be appreciated greatly!

Hi,

Have you got a FBII in Hand before I come out with an answer?

Are you still in need of a solution for this?

I have a Cayman which I turned into a bridge. I put the external IP on my firewall and everything works fine. If you are interested, I will forward the config steps.

Yes, please. I managed a workaround, but would like to see how you set it up.

A medium length list of steps. Is off-line allowed by this board?

Why not put your list of steps here. I'm interested for
the setup what is coming up here at my place.
If you don't like to make it public, can you send me a
copy?
Thanks so far
/Ben

I also I'm looking for some information on this set-up. Trying to setup an IPSEC tunnel from a remote branch to corporate, but can't find any useful information on bridging the IP's. Thanks in advance
