How do you set up NAT on a 2000 Domain Controller? My network has 11 machines with only 5 static IPs. This limits my Internet connection capability. My DSL router cannot be configured to use NAT. Does DNS and DHCP need to be configured in order for NAT to work? I followed the Microsoft instructions on setting up NAT on the server, but it is not working. Please help. Thanks

DNS or DHCP do not need to be setup in order to use NAT. If you are using static IP, then the default gateway for the clients is the Machine running NAT.

Does the server need to have two network adapters?

Look in the faq's on this forum,
It wil bring you there
for the adsl router you try the can following it worked for me

IF you 2 nic.s? This depending of the kind of DSL router

If it is an USB Router no you don't
if is an Ehternet Router yes you do

: Well, you have to:
1. go to the RRAS mmc
2. select the computer / Disable routing and remote access
3. then choose Configure and enable routing and remoe access
4. in the wizard choose: Network router
5. Selct protocol that you want ( i suppose TCP/IP)
6. It will ask you if you want demand dial-connections to be able to acess remote networks. Choose YES
7. At the end you will be able to:
1. go to routing interfaces
2. "new demand-dial interface"
3. set as address of the other router the gateway from your provider
5. finish with that wizard

After all these steps, i suppse you have to add again NAT protocol. ANd then going to NAT/new interface, you will see you demand-dial connection.

Success!
