Named Pipes with SQL Server 7

Is it possible to use named pipes with SQL server 7?
If so how do I go about setting them up?
Is there a way to check if an existing server is using named pipes?

When you install the SQL Server Tools you have the SQL Server Network Utility.
Here you can setup the network libraries you want to use or delete...
You can also see the active libraries. Named Pipes is one of them...
