The creative dept of our company just bought an xsan. One of the "mac" guys setup a little wiki page that he would like the whole company to see. The xsan server is part of workgroup and not our domain. I have created a host and ptr record for the server and its directories are browseable.

If the host name of the server is xserve01 but the website that he created is called ourxsan.com, how do I configure DNS to point all of the requests for ourxsan.com to xserve01? Or is this a configuration on the Mac web server?

On your DNS server, you need to create a new forward lookup zone called "ourxsan.com" and in that zone create a blank (or "@") CNAME record that points to xserve01.yourdomain.com

You shouldn't need to do anything additional on the actual xsan.
