HI Everyone,

I'm new to SBT and was asked if there is anyway I can add a "PO" field to the Open receivables form within customer maintenance. To clarify in SBT I would open up AR --> Maintain --> Customers. When the customer form opens up I would select a customer and select click the "Inquiry" button at the top of the form. Another form opens that allows me to select the inquiry type and i select "Receivables" from there a new window opens up that is titled "Open Receivables as of today's date". It basically shows the records for the customer's receivables in a grid format. I was asked to add the "PO" field to it.

Does anyone know how I can find out what form or qry this is pulling off of so that I can modify it?

Thanks,

Ken

Which SBT version are you running?

Latests Accpac/SagePro versions use a dataview for those queries that is much easier to modify.

If you are running SBT 5.0(or prior) you have to modify a program. You will need the source program and VFP to compile.

So, first at all, let me know the SBT version.

Thanks

BrianoNur,

Thanks for the reply. Running 7.4 and got a tip from another website. Click on the i button which provides the dataview information i.e. the name of the dataview. Went into maintain dataview and edited the view.

Thanks!

Just joined this forum and was walking through the old threads. This this is still an open request...

The answer is yes. When you are in the Open Receivables inquiry, look at the bottom left. You will see a button with an italics letter "i". Click and you get the name of the data view currently displayed: PL_SYCHST_REC. Block and copy the name to your Windows clipboard. Close the window, the inquiry and the customer window.

Now move the menu and look for File -> Maintain Dataviews. Select it and past this data view id into the "Dataview ID" field.

Next, click "edit" and the dataview comes to life.

Click the button with three dots to the right of panel "Column". Up comes the data driller "Define Columns" picker window. Look for column "PONUM" in the left panel. Double-click on it and it will move to the right panel. Position it the list of selected columns by high-lighting it and then clicking the up and down arrow buttons to move it to where you want to see it in the grid.

Click "Ok" and then the save button. Then close the dataview window.

Done! Go back to your customer and do a Receivables inquiry. You should see PONUM on the list now.

This trick works everywhere in Pro 7.4 that you see a picklist. All are dataviews that can be customized for all or just one or some users and even customized by company (if you have more than one company). Powerful stuff.

Matthew,

Thanks for the reply. I did figure it out a while back ago and did as you had written out.

Thanks for the tip though as I'm sure others will benefit from the update.
