Name format

I have a name field in the format of Lastname,Firstname (with no space) Middlename (with a space). I want the output to be Lastname, First initial (with a space). could someone help with the correct formula in Crystal Reports XI? Thanks.

Just for clarification:
current format: James,John Raymond
desired format: James, J

Use a formula like this:

split({table.name},",")[1]+" "+
split({table.name},",")[2][1]
