MainReport1
RecordSource = JPETbl_OM_Crosstab

Subreport1
SourceObject = Report.JPCTbl_OM_Crosstab

Subreport 2
SourceObject=Report.JSETbl_OM_Crosstab

Subreport 3
SourceObject=Report.JSCTbl_OM_Crosstab

Using an UNbound Text Box as a calc control

I would like to subtract subreport1.Field [3401]
From Report.Field[3401]

The expression I have run gives me the dreaded #Name? error message

Have I put the wrong SourceObject in each of the subreports?

Referring to SubForm and SubReport objects and controls has a very specific form that must be followed. Also in reverse, like referring to the main form from a subform event. Check out this link to help you see how the format works:
I really can't help with this specific instance because you have identified a Report.Field[3401] and I don't know where that one is from. Bob Scriver

[3401] is just a numeric text field for a branch location of an office. I should have made my example more generic. What I failed to do was implement the Link Child/Master fields. I did download the article for future use. Thanks
