Have updated a 4.0.04c NAM with the redirect DN software and the nam will not see the phone system. have done this on another NAM with same results. have a couple of floppy that have the same dir on them after i unzipped the download and have use one in the past to upgrade at least 4 NAM with success. what are my options have reboot several times, never did get the two beeps to confirm software update. can i hook up a pc under hyper terminal and see anything as it boots. have one more NAM that is working that need to upgrade but am hesitate about the upgrade till i figure this out. have gone back to lower software on MICS and still no voicemail. these are fiber NAM and have verified the VM dn and called the station too but show not in service. Maintenance show empty MOD and have busy out and enable with no luck. this disk has several files on it, a read me file and the zip file but the new download of the upgrade matches my 2001 disk download that worked. any ideas please.

Nam will not come up after software upgrade

Connect a monitor, keyboard and mouse. Then watch the OS/2 bootup and see where it's getting stuck.

I thought all NAMs at least had a mouse and keyboard port. I looked at on of my old broken NAMs and it had a video board in it. Here's an eBay listing for the same model:

NAM Redirect is a patch, not an upgrade....what is it you are trying to achieve? upgrade the NAM or fix a dialing issue?

trying to fix dn redirect. through the upgrade you sent me was to take a NAM 4.0 to a 4.1 to fix that issue. have 7.0 software, it see nam but cannot fwd to mailbox just back to AA. will this patch work on eailer release. have no way of knowing what it doing no video card in my 1999 nam. after upgrade just reboot over and over after about 5 minutes

The redirect patch does not upgrade the NAM to 4.1. If you are plugging a NAM 4.0 into a MICS 7.0 it won't come up. MICS 7.0 requires NAM to be 4.1.
The patch is only required when connecting to a MICS 5.0.

have two NAM i upgraded both do the same thing after patch installed. both were working before patch but both 1999 mod and
neither has a video card. have taken out hard drives and install in one that has video card in it. booth up pass the a booth then goes to c drive and continue to run. a screen come up that show something about TCP/ip and a time counter stay there till you power down. have turn off the network card but still does the same thing. did not pull hard drive out of other NAM to see where it getting too before it reboot and start all over again. do have a working 4.0 thinking about cloning the hard drive and then doing the upgrade. have reloaded two clean floppy and have the same results. also found my original one that i upgraded 4 nams with, downloaded to a new floppy and ran that version, looks almost the same as far as files on it, but neither would come back up. video card built in to the board so cannot install video card and not sure what the difference in the 99 model and the 2001 model. both have os 2 but screen looks different for the 2001 models. hard drive is a little bigger on the 2001 model.
have a lot of hours in this, so fall back is a flash which i have, but have several NAM out in field and would love to have a back up that has the patch in it. all software on mics over 6.0 just Murphy law for me this week

The 4.0 NAM will come up on a MICS R7.0, but it won't work correctly. As Marv wrote the NAM needs to be at R4.1 to be compatible.
You might look at just buying a couple of R4.1 hard drives to upgrade.

You have to enable the monitor package under F915 to get video to work.
Yes, you can clone a 4.0 hard drive, but you will only have 2 active channels if it's installed in a different NAM.
