I wiped out the info on the voicemail, and pperformed a startup, now I can not get anywhere with F983. "Password invalid".I was able to get into F983 b4 I initialized the system.Tried the F985...9 thing, and no go. Need help on this one guys...Mike

try this''''''

Goal: How to delete the SYSDIR.40 file in Voice Mail.

Fix: Access OS/2 from a monitor or via telenet over modem.
Shut down Voice Mail
From the ST directory type nvmutil
At Command? type shutdownnvm
Type t enter
Type q enter
Type del sysdir.40
Reboot the NAM
From the tool directory type namtool
Enter 2
Enter 3
When the Voice Mail is rebooted. Enter Feature 983 and 266344 to initialize Voice Mail.
ITAS then recommends rebooting the NAM and doing a reinstall.
Enter Feature 983
Enter system coordinator mailbox (1020000)
Enter 1
Enter 734678255 (REINSTALL)
Enter Feature 983
Enter 266344 to initialize Voice Mail.

Mass,
Do as Luv2ski stated. If you call ITAS they will have you do the exact same thing. Ski nailed it with the file that causes cannot continue.

if you can see 22 names in the directory you did not do a reinstall on the nam...

so WAS this system at 3 digits?

it does no good to enter the mailboxes in the directory because it does not tell us what the mailbox dn length is in the voicemail

before trying iluv2ski"s procedure, you may want to bump your lab system up to three digits and try accessing the nam again. going through the same procedure as before...

Some people are like slinkies...not really good for anything, but seeing one tumble down the stairs makes you smile!

The Nam was originally 3 digets and I have changed from 2 to 3 digets and back to 2 many times.

I didn't read all the replies...you may have already answered this....did you try F915 w/password access2nam?

leave the system at three digits and try iluv2ski's procedure. at this point you have nothing to lose.....

Luv2ski and westcoater: I tried to access the OS/2 operating system with an I/T frind of mine and could not get in with the info you gave me. There was no nic card on the bottom of this Nam, and the other connections would not let us in. I hate to admit it, but I gave this back to the customer and said sorry, but, I can not fix this thing. I would like to thank every one for their input on this one. I am told by a local vendor that the hard drive will will have to be replaced or to upgrade the Nam. Thanx again...Mike
