nam ip 1

hi i have a nam 4.0 that a upgrade to 4.1 was unsucsefu; but it is still working on a 6.1 mics

i tried to use the nam ip light to change the ip address
and it would not take these are the steps i use

created a sys disk using format a/s

started nam ip light in the drop down box set to retrieve data

apply

box came up said now in retrie mode hit ok

shut down nam

put in disk

powered assending tones played

put disk back in computer

from file menu slected load retrieved data

it loaded

changed data ip ect

from file menu save data

box came up disk is now in configureation mode

put disk back in nam and powerd nam

got assending tones

removed power removed disk

started nam

checked nam the ip did not change

my cables and nic on cumputer and on nam ok i can still ping and access useing default 192.168.110.10 sub net 255.255.255.0

i have done this peoceure about 5 times before with no problem can anyone help

the only other thing i can figur is some how the namip progam on my laptop got corup in this case dose anyone have a fresh version of this

If you can connect a monitor and keyboard the IP address of the NAM can be changed manually. The following link is to a pdf on installing a NIC in a NAM. Page 9 describes changing the IP address.

brian are you saying that the namiplight prg will not work for this i have a nam 2 with nic allready on it and it is working i would perfer not to install a vid card if i did not have to. i have use namiplight befor with sucsses but not this time.

I've had occasions where IP Lite wouldn't work for some reason. Just giving you another option.

the floppy must be formatted in a win 98 PC (other file systems nt, win2k, xp,may not work)

I would suggest using the monitor,keyboard and mouse for this..This wil be alot easier to configure the ip address you need for the nam..
