phoneboy,
I have successfully changed existing trees in class without disabling, but I suspect on a live system the customer may get some unpredictable results or the tree may corrupt. Disable first.
I am doing this from memory. First plan your CCR tree out as a flow chart and know what the recording are going say. It should be the same person recording as the company greeting as it will be confusing to the caller.
The Home Menu or Menu Level 0 is simply a recording to give the caller direction. "Press 1 for sales", "Press 2 Accounting" etc.
The next prompt is for a path. The path is simply the digits dialed to get there. This will make more sense as you complete the tree.
At the Path prompt enter "1" (We want to get to "sales" as instructed in the previous menu.)
Now you choose what action you want to happen.
Menu will be used for multiple choices. For example "Press 1 for new customer sales", "Press 2 for current account customers" etc.
Now to reach "new customer sales" we enter Path 11. "11" being the digits dialed to get there. Look at it as "One One" not "Eleven" Select action of "Xfer" "INT" for internal. ("EXT" is external) Input the correct extension number.
To reach "current account holders" Enter path "12" (One Two). Select action of "Xfer" If you select external (EXT) you will need to select the line or the line pool to be used. Pool A is 1, Pool B is 2, etc. Then enter the phone number to be dialed under the "Phone" heading.
Path 1 is now complete. Now enter path "2" Select an action. In addition to the examples above the other action choices are:
"Info" (Information box, customer can't leave message)
"Lvmsg" (Transfer to a mailbox. The mailbox must be initalized before building the tree.)
When complete make sure you save the tree using the "END" prompt. You can use the "*" to back up a level if there is no prompt to do so.
If you press release without saving then all your work is lost.
This was short but I hope it is helpful. Dive in and give it a try. Plan first.
