So I've got a NAM 4.0 which was working great until I wanted to change the IP address of the network card, now I can not get it to run at all I removed the hard drive and booted it up on an old pentium and it boots okay to os2 however when I put it back in the nam it boots then reboots then seems to die. I can't see whats going on however I did notice alot of .chk files when i explored the hard drive (could a critical file been corrupted and if so how would I get a copy of it ?)
Also is there a way to hook up Video/mouse/keyboard directly to the NAM (I'm sure the computer board has the capability but I probably need a special connector ) if so how

Thanks in advance for the help
and f**xtest shows inactive
and maintenance hardware module shows unequipped when hooked up to the MICS

If you have a VGA card in the NAM you will see the connector in one of the slots. Otherwise a key board and mouse will hook up to the PS2 plugs under the chasis.
Probably be best if you reloaded from your back up to the original configuration and then start your IP process again verifying each step you took against that of the instructions from Nortel. ??

This help?

I have no backup and there is definately no vga card in the backplane I've tried putting one in with no results you've described something under the chasis I've not seen anyting yet but i'll definately look again

Still looking for help
thanks

NAM will not take any VGA card. They are an older IBM flavor. Best to get one from your Service provideer. Without the VGA card there is little point in hooking up a laptop and mouse. Best to get your service techs in your location to be there physically.

It would be great to see what the unit is doing on boot up. What information is being given through the monitor? What is the port 80 code giving you? Were you using IP Lite to change the IP initially? What kind of NAM is it?( 2, 2G or 3G) I have a feeling that you would be best served to send it in to a reputable repair center at this point. darnold@americaii.com

Its a 2G with 4.0 VM I really am starting to think that some critical file was corrupted. We did not get any software other than the voice mail manager and client software. Is the only way to get the missing files by sending my unit to somebody ?

Thanks

I have seen scan disk take care of problems but I've also seen it cause problems too. It might be more time efficient to go on and send it in. darnold@americaii.com

There may be a back up disc inside the cover. Contact your vendor and ask.
