nagging report setup issues

Hi, I have a couple of questions about report format in CR 8, I'm wondering if anyone can help:
1: using date paramaters and I want to change the display of the date to the user. currently its mm/dd/yyyy and I want dd/mm/yyyy
2: using cross tabs in report header, want to have page number etc on this page but page footer and report footer don't show it where I want it.

Also, do you mean CR version 8 (which is 10+ years old), or CR 2008 (which is version 14)?

Do you have any suggestions for the parameter date display?

Do you mean to change the date that the user enters into the parameter window before the report is run, or do you mean to change how the chosen values are is displayed on the report output after it is run?
If it is before the report is run, how are the users running the report (e.g. within Crystal Reports, from a stand-alone viewer from a web application, etc).

Hi Ken, its actually at the parameter stage.
The user selects a start and end date, both of which fields have a calendar to select from. but if the want to use the quicker option and just key in the date ranges it needs to be mm/dd/yyyy, which is not natural for Australians! Sam

You didn't answer the second part of the question, which is how are the users running the report?

If this is being run within CR directly then all you do is change the "viewing locale" at the bottom of the VIEW menu on the target PC. But I am not sure if that is stored in the RPT and carried along when it is run somewhere else. You could try it. Otherwise you might need to find the registry setting on the target PC and change it.
