MySQL Newbie

Hello All,

I've just downloaded and installed a MySQL Server. My question is, does Mysql have a UI associated with it, like "enterprise manager" for Microsoft SQL ? Or is it all command-line driven? If it does have a UI, how do I launch it ?

It does not come with a GUI. However, there are GUIs available. From the MySQL site, you can download the GUI tools, or you can use another one. I can recommend SQLyog if you are running Windows.

If you are fully into MySQL with Web, then download WAMP server from:

http://www.wampserver.com/en/download.php

It has phpMyAdmin built in and you can fully work your DB from that except for backup dumps and other tools like "slow query monitor, etc.

phpmyadmin is awful

use HeidiSQL instead
