1 Avaya could get the Voice mail data base to be kept up to date with the phone switch. Not just with extension but with name as well.

2. If the ECAS data base would update as well.

Here are three data bases all Avaya that don't get along.
With all the network cables I have going into them you think they would communicate with each other.

Yes its slow here at work and I'm filling my time with DATA BASE UPDATES.

Am I the only one on this third planet from the sun feeling this way?

How about a way to automatically update the dictionary in CMS? Talk about a time saver. I'll have died and gone to heaven.

And what if the user-defined administrators in CMS actually had permission to see everything globally without having to add the VDN/Vector/Skill to their user permissions before accessing it. I mean, if you can add it to yourself, why can't you just see it? Am I crazy???!!!

Gotta agree, especially about the CMS dictionary and permissions. I'd like to see more "Miscellaneous" fields available for annotating stations, vectors, VDN's, etc. I'm tired of being creative on my Vector names, and using the Room/Jack/Cable entries on the station screens to keep track of the various bits of information I find that I need (for example, the "Floor" field is used to record the area code and exchange for my DID stations).

Phoneman2 you have hit the nail on the head. I just upgraded my switch to V11,,,installed and Intuity, CMS, and ECAS. During the entire setup process of all three, I was amazed that I had to input all the data in by hand. I would have put money on it to think that each package could go to the definity and pull in the necessary information. Oh well,,,maybe someday.

Ditto! Avaya making a way for all the adjunct equipment to get updates from the switch, now that would be an upgrade! In addition to having to change those items previously mentioned there is the call accounting system, and I maintain a Master Extension List in Excel. I downloaded most of it from the PBX via DSA by doing a "list sta", impoted to Excel, then added all the numbers that were not accounted for as stations. I just keep up with the extension, port type, port, name, and a brief description if any is needed. It makes my life a lot easier to be able to see it all at a glance. Years ago I would track every jumper wire, from port to station. That has not been so important with the advent of the TTI feature.

I know this is an old thread, but have you guys tried the CMS Bulk Config that comes with the Call Flow Extract?

They just released a new version, and you can now synch your CMS Data Dictionary items with your PBX, or do a bulk upload from a file.

The only hard part about setting this up is that you might need to modify some of your PBX descriptions so that you do not get duplicate errors when trying to load them into your CMS.

Have fun

I would love to see more functions in vectors.
