My Partition is suddenly full! 1

When I went to defrag my C partition on Norton SystemWorks I realised that the partition was suddenly and unexpected almost full. This is a 20GB partition and has never been more than about half full. Sure enough the Defrag map showed that almost all the space was "Used". But I know that I have not filled this partition, which I keep for system files and Program files. When I looked more closely with Windows Explorer I found that it claimed that I had 13GB in my Program Files folder, but when i explored each separate program folder the total turned out to be less than 3GB. So for some reason I am getting a bad report.
Speed Disk beleives that the disk is almost full, tells me so, and runs so slowly that in an overnight session achieved only a 4% reorganization of the partition.
I've dumped temporary files, cookies etc, and run Clean Sweep but gained only a tiny improvement. I've done a Virus Scan: no problems found.
Can anyone explain the problem, and better still give me a solution, please?

Life...It's difficult not to take it personally.

Do you have Windows Explorer set to sho hidden and system files. The other 10 gig may be hidden their.

I would look at doing a search for all stuff modified in the last day or two and see what comes up and what has been created on the partition that is taking up all the space.
