My music cdr player is broken and I'm waiting for a new one, but here is my question.

I call from one phone to another phone on the switch, if either phone does a hook flash to do a transfer or conference the other phone gets music. My question is, where is the music coming from? the MM?. I don't have any other music source that I can find.

It's played by your RAN card, you can find it in an IPE shelf called E&M. If you kniow the number of the route you can find the exact location in LD 21
REQ LTM
CUST (enter customer number, normally 0)
ROUT xx (just enter the route number).
If you do not know the route number go to LD 20
REQ PRT
TYPE MUS
CUST (just enter)

OK where is the RAN card getting the music if the CD player is broken?

I only have 1 music route
2 trunk cards in that route
1 broken CD played
no other music sources

You don't get the music if you put the phone on hold it only does this if you use a hook flash.

If it is not Miran then you need to check the cable connection to those trunk prots which are configured as MUS.

You can verify it by dialing Access code for the route.

I think system should play same music for Hold On and Flash.

I think you have Ghosts in you system

If you have no music source - you have no music

As mentioned above you could dial the ACOD of the music route to test. As was also mentioned MIRAN can provide music but you would have a music route and trunks to the MIRAN.

You could also trace a call when music is playing

It's got to be Ghosts
