Yeah I might be putting this in the wrong category but anyway here it goes. I put the CD in the computer and autoplay tries to start and it pops up an error saying cannot execute kernel mode driver service. My motherboard is an Asus K8V. I've tried opening the CD and installing the drivers that way but the drivers wouldn't work right.
If anyone can help that would be great.
Thanks

Do you get this problem just with this CD, or with others as well. Also, have you tried a different cd/dvd-rom drive, just to see if the hardware is having an error?

I have not tried a different CD-ROM but other CD's have worked fine. Kind of annoying...

So, you can, or cannot explore the CD's contents at all. If you can't explore them at all, try cleaning the CD, or looking to see if any scratches.

I am able to explore the cd fine. I think I found out that the problem is the cd and its drivers are made for Windows XP whereas I have Windows XP-64 bit. I googled my problem and found a site with people who linked to drivers that worked for me. So I guess the problem is solved... hopefully. Thanks for the help.

No problem! By the way, just to make sure the problem doesn't happen again, you could do one of two things:
1.) Contact Asus to see if they can provide you a disk with the 64 bit drivers...

or

2.) Burn the drivers you downloaded to a blank CD-R, and that way you'll have your drivers all ready the next time you have to redo your computer (if that happens).
