I use Win98 Second edition.

Everytime i play a PC game named Counter-Strike (dont think u peeps know it) but after playing for awhile..my comp just resets on it's own! (No my foot doesnt kick the reset button) Please help me!!!

You could have a cooling problem. You might check to see if all your fans are working and clean out the dust from inside the cabinet if it hasn't been done in a while. This is just one thing that could case this. I'm sure there are many more..... "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing....." [morning]

hm... ill try it but how does the fan effect my computer? Sorry i'm not a pro in computers :(

If your CPU gets too hot, it will quit working.
You could also have a bad power supply or mobo or a number of things. Since you have been playing a game, it could be that your CPU is overheating.
Anybody else got some suggestions?? "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing....." [morning]

hm...thx for ur help :) for now..im gonna test it out :p

I had this problem in another game and it turned out to my my video driver causing the problem. I would think about checking to see if there are any newer versions of you drivers like Sound and Video.

Could be your RAM as well (not enough)

You should check the game documentation

It's not enough that you have enough RAM installed, 'cause you might have resources eating half of it.
I had a similar problem.

I agree with Nelix, see if there is an updated driver for your video card.
Also go into safe mode and see how many monitors, video cards you have listed.
If it's more than one, remove ALL of them and reboot. They will be detected during normal start up.
[cheers]

as i said..im not a pro in computers...and last time i THINK i downloaded the latest version for my driver and my screen was all weird...i fixed it up (like it was shrinked and stuff) and once i played my game...the screen was all in the wrong position! I was thinking there might be a virus on my comp and i reformatted my comp...but nothing much on my comp... but it still resets!!! When i got this game it didnt reset until a few months later!!! I dont wanna download a driver if it would mess my computer up again :( cause i dont know which one... someone plz tell me where i can find wat kind of driver i have

I think what you are describing is the screen just changing from resolution shifts... You probably play the game at a different resolution than what is on your desktop. Also, download Directx 8 (I think that's the most current). I'm sure that directx drivers came with the game but they are usually old. Another option is going to the developer's site and looking for patches for Counterstrike.

Is Counterstrike an addon to Halflife??? If so, then the developer is Valve.
