I cannot add "my computer" to the classic start menu of XP Pro, no matter what I do. I've tried to use Tweak UI, nope. Am I missing the mark here? I thought that would be an automatic inclusion from MS?

I have never seen or tried to add My Computer icon to the Classic Start Menu.

What you are able to do is add it as a Desktop Icon.

Display Properties/ Customize Desktop.

"Specifies whether these Windows items will appear as icons on your desktop. Select the check box if you want the item to appear on your desktop; clear the check box if you do not want the item to appear on your desktop."

Right-click on the My Computer Icon on the desktop and choose create shortcut. Then simply drag it to the start button.

One caveat to my previous response. If you delete the shortcut you've created, you'll lose the link. However you can "hide" it in an unused desktop directory.
