I click on "My Computer" and all it does is pop up a window with a tourch in it and searchs for the drives. I really don't want it to be my HDD because i have no money for a new 1 at the moment, could it be a software problem?

I installed Norton Anti Virus and ZoneAlarm pro (firewall software) earlier on in the day, could this have done somthing?

Any 1 out there who can help, it would be much appreciated :)

Thx

Hi there :)

Have you made all the updates to your windows?
Once i runned into that problem in a old pentium 100MHZ
with 32 MB RAM.
When i tried to open "my computer" or "control panel"...
ERROR: bad access violation ,bla,bla,bla...
So i went to windowsupdate and updated with everything.
The problem stoped.

You said the solution steps yourself !
try to uninstall the 2 programs , and check again , if the problem been solved ,, install the 2 software again , 1 by 1 ,, to know which one make this !!!

if the problem doesn't been solved ,, send to usa gain ,, to try another solution. Eng.Mohamed Farid
