Here is one for the history books.

I have in my possession:

10 button 500 Series Desk set
10 Button Princess Phone
Touch-A-Matic Business Card Dial Phone (with plastic IBM style punch cards!)

Dimension 2000 PBX Operator Console

Any several other interesting items.

P.S. When I say 10 button I mean only Touch Tone buttons 1-0 no * or #. That was not invented yet.

What is in your collection?

The WESTERN ELECTRIC Touch-Tone™ desk set with 10 buttons would be model 1500D. The 10 button Princess™ would be the model 1702B. The Touch-A-Matic™ set is a set with a built-in memory dialer, was available as rotary (872 series) or Touch-Tone™ (2872 series) and equipped with a six button key strip. It did not use cards, it has a 32 number memory. The Card Dialer set on the other hand, is all electromechanical, model series are: 660 rotary, 1660 10 button Touch-Tone™, 2660 12 button Touch-Tone™, all with various options from single line to 6 button key strip and headset jacks and exclusion key. The card itself did not bear any likeness to an "IBM" card except for the holes poked in the plastic card to store the phone number. The P-13E353 cards were plastic cards about a fourth the size of an "IBM" card, more like a credit card. The dialer mechanism, type 41, was a motor driven device, where the Touch-Tone™ version, type 26 (10 button) and type 36 (12 button), were spring driven to read the card.

Both the Touch-A-Matic™ and the Card Dialer devices were available as an adjunct add on in Touch-Tone™ versions to be used with other sets or arrangements.

If you have any questions about the sets or their wiring, I can probably answer them. I have the BSPs, etc. for them, although they are available from various places on the net.

I have a German ivory coloured phone from 1939 that can be converted to a wall phone by turning the dialer. At that time they tested each rotary for correct 60/40ms timing and the test strip is still in it.
