I am using Win XP Pro, I used my burner 2 days ago to copy some files. A friend brought his dead system over and wanted to see if his hard drive worked, so I unplugged my husband's slave drive and plugged his hard drive in its place. I pulled the data he needed, put my husband's slave HD back in, and went to burn a copy of the files, burner just kept running & didn't burn, had to reboot to even get the blank CD out. Copied the files to my son's computer (I have 3 systems networked together), burner also did same thing, figuring my burner worked (I just used it 2 days ago), copied files to my HD,exact same thing. A friend said I needed to uninstall (through control panel / device manager)the burner and slave HD from my husbands system, then remove the items, restart win XP and shut down, plug back in and let Windows find items. Windows found everything, but once unfortunately the burner still doesn't work. Anyone have any suggestions?? Thanks
