Anyone familiar with My CallPilot and have used the software?

Do you have to have desktop messaging licenses to use this?

Yes, it does use a desktop messaging license. To use My Call Pilot, you have to set up a separate web server that the users actually connect to, they do not connect to the actual Call Pilot.

It's not too bad, easy to set up too.
Make sure Mailbox Manager is ticked in the Mailbox Class, install My Callpilot on a stand alone Win200 server machine (you'll need IIS installed), and point it towards the CP server.

Then just open a web browser and type in
eg
I *think* the default port is 8000, but it can be changed in IIS, should you need to.

Not sure if you need licenses for desktop messaging to use this, but I think most flavours of CP come with a handful of licenses anyway..

I've only just setup our My Callpilot, so someone else out there may be able to give you specific details..

Good judgement comes from experience, which often came from bad judgement..

just to repeat what has been said, our's came with 20 lic, and i let the network side setup that server, they had a mail server on site with a full network staff so it's not much for them to play with. i've done it turn key at one site, but the one i'm at now hasn't pushed but i've got it on my (seldom seen) short list

Thanks,

I did not know if you required desktop license or not. In looking at the documentation, My CallPilot web server can be loaded on the CallPilot server. I did that and I am able to bring up the login window, however; when I tried logging in with a mailbox number and password, it gave me an Invalid Credentials. Please check your settings.

I have a 201 CallPilot installed in an Option 11C. Strange but when I check my keycode info, it says that I do not have any Desktop Message Clients. When I check my CallPilot, it is looks like there is 10 available and if I change the COS of a mailbox to Executive and allow Desktop Messaging, no warnings come up and it is using one of the 10 desktop message clients.

I also have found that you have to setup VPIM. ANy special way, I saw in an old posting that someone would use the area code, exchange and DID # as the VPIM.

Will talk to vendor about the desktop licensing.

Thanks
Ken

if i recall those 10 are the free lic for that rls and you can use them. if you have trouble with the vpim let us know in a new post, i'm sure someone here can walk you through it.

MyCallPilot does not use a desktoplicense and it can be installed locally on a 201i server at least.

Depends on how many users you have for My Call Pilot you are going to have if you install it directly on the Call Pilot server itself. It must be less than 20.

Found out that I needed to download a PEP into the Callpilot 4.0 to make it work. It was a large file that came with the system. Once loaded, My CallPilot works!

kvepps,

Do you know what PEP is was that you had to load? We just got our 201i system upgraded from 2.02 to 4.04.04 and I'm having trouble getting My CallPilot back up and running. I get an invalid credentials message, even though I know it's right. Just curious... maybe our installer missed a PEP during the upgrade.

Thanks,
Matt

Nevermind... I found the problem to be an incorrect FQDN value set following the upgrade. It was pretty buried!

I need some help. I have three sites that have Callpilot 702t with 4.04 software. One has approx 7000 mailboxes and the others about 1000. They are connected to Nortel 4.0 PBXs. I have 3 Callpilot 200i that have about 100 mailboxes on each, that are also 4.04. The callpilots that are 702t, 4.04 are the only ones that are have delayed message problems. All the swicthes and callpilots are patched to the latest peps per Nortel. The only solution right now is to out the Mailbox and rebuild it. Has anyone ran into this? What is the fix? Nortels Primus Solution says to load PEP, but they are already there.
