Basically if I'm at commadn prompt and type

soh int (intending sho int)

I get:

Translating "soh"... domain server (255.255.255.255)
%unknown command or computer name, or unable to find computer address

Then it brings up the ISDN, can't find it there either and brings the ISDN back offline.

How can I stop it from using this DNS lookup feature for bad typing?

What you need to do is type, once you've reached enable mode is :-

conf t
no ip domain-lookup
exit
copy run start

This will stop it trying to do domain lookups.

The way the Ciscos work is that if you type an incorrect command, they treat it as an address to telnet to.

This does mean, of course, you can type something like cix.co.uk and be telnetted to it. Fine if thats what you want, but a pain if you make lots of typos.
