Hello,

I have been installing cad for years. This one is blowing my mind. I have had no problem installing autocad 2002 on all the other machines here. I can switch the incon to all the other icons on acad.exe, but the first one. It shows up find, but when you say apply & leave it is a box with a small white a. Can someone tell me how to get the first icon to show up? Thanks

from my experience with this... it depends on what your display color settings and resolution are set to when you begin installing AutoCAD...

The company I used to work for it was my responsibility to install AutoCAD stations, well when we finally upgraded to 2002 I would get some PC's that would display the blue icon and some that would display 3d looking blue icon with the raised looking "A"

I assumed it had something to do with display setting but I am not to sure about it...

view this page on autodesks webiste and it might help you change the icon...

Danland,

Thanks for all you input. I do appreciate it. I have been changing my display, but I did not think to do it before I install.

I found where it was. In the control panel display effects tab, there is an option show icons using all possible colors option. Make sure that is checked & you are good to go.
