I am working with an MXe running on ver 8.0.11.7. We are trying to integrate a non-mitel system into the mix. The remote system is over 500 miles away and will have IP connectivity to the mitel system (MPLS to remote site). Our telephony guy at the remote site says they can connect via QSIG, PRI, or SIP to our system. Im thinking, "huh?" In this situation I would think a SIP connection to the only system would be the only option since I cannot run a physical copper cable that far to the other system. Am I missing something....Can you make a connection to another system using QSIG or PRI over IP?

Put a 3300 Gateway at the far end with an E1/T1 dual framer in it, run IP between the local and remote 3300s over MPLS, use QSIG PRI from the Gateway to the other system.

just use sip trunks
No need for the extra gateway
Avaya can do sip very well
