I had my MX record poited to the IP of my Exchange 5.5 server.
I have added a seconed Exchange server with the main purpase of hosting the OWA portion.
The question:
Can redirect my MX record to point to the second serverand that server will relay the meesages to mailboxes located on the first server??
Note: there is only one domain and only one information store and the latter is on the first server.

Thanx

We have a very similar situation, and had used our firewall to direct traffic according to port request. This worked great. Later, when we added an Avaya VPN, that function didn't work due to the odd configuration of our internet connection. Our current solution is to set up a new MX record for the OWA server. Using the same domain name, different prefix. IE:

Exchange: mail.yourdomain.com 1.1.1.1
OWA Server: webmail.yourdomain.com 1.1.1.2

You can point to a whole miriad of zzzz.yourdomain.com to different servers for different uses. Just be sure to keep a GOOD list of what points where if you ever need to change ISPs.

Hope this helps.

I just comfigured IMS on my second server (NT) and pointed both the MX and OWA to that PC and it works fine...
