Hi, I am new with MX-One. I have question about external backup - for example to DVD. Which files or directories are needed to backup?

you can extract the files using a tool like winscp.use google to find it!

var/opt/eri_sn is always a good start

"There is no place like 127.0.0.1

sorry to be more precise

var/opt/eri_sn/xdata_(lim number)_(date&time).
date & time are swedish format....
note this does not contain backup of the programm units!

you might want to also take a copy of /eri_sn/mirror/lim_X

safety back ups are also

/etc/opt/eri_sn/safety_backup.conf

"There is no place like 127.0.0.1

many thanx,I have a little time to test before serious work. So, if I completely reinstal MX-One and copy these directories (files), restart system, will it works?

You have no idea what you are talking about here...

I now, what I am talking about, but maybe there is a problem with my English... What I want to do is to make backup do DVD, and If I will change for example harddisk (because it crashed), I need to completely install and configure system again, and then copy data from backup. After restart the system everything works fine, so I think that, I now, what I am doing...

Its not you...

You need to have a safety backup on your system. Copy that file to where ever you like to keep it. You can use USB key to transfer this file to anywhere you like.

But before you run the safetybackup command, you need to do data_backup, then config_mirror and then eri_sn_safety_backup.

Then copy the safetybackup file.

If the online server became faulty and needs replacement, your new server should be identical to the old one with respect to configurations, OS and TS software SP level.

You can actually build the system in your office.

Then recopy the safety backup file to the new server. Using ALEX, there is a procedure there how to reload from safety backup.

Then request the new license from Aastra because MAC address of your new Eth0 is diffent.

Hope this helps...

Well,well,well Patcher

this is the path of my back ups!

and rather then mounting a usb disk everytime. i use Winscp to copy the file......(click and drag acutally)

but as you say I know nothing......
