I'm trying to get off the ground learning Dreamweaver MX's advanced ASP features, but I don't have ready access to a Web server. I'm looking into setting up server space on an affordable remote server so I can test. Any suggestions?
I checked out Tripod.com, but their sales pitch doesn't even say whether they're Unix or NT -- I'm thinking I want something more professional? I have the same issue with the free Web space that comes with my AT&T email account. Ultimately, I think I need to load MySQL on the server so I can create Active Server Pages using JavaScript for programming but don't know if I can do that.
To make things more complicated, I'm on a Macintosh OS 9, so I can't use the server features in Windows or in OS X.
Any advice on how to proceed would be most appreciated. I'm stuck.
