Hello There,

I have a client with a Mitel 3300 MXE2. One of the users every now and again gets an MWL appear, when she checks there are no call back messages or VM messages.

loc feat ext xxxx shows "Dialed Message Waiting" after a while the MWL will turn off by iteslf.

I have made sure that all VM ports are setup and in the hunt group. Unfortunately the client uses the call back message option so I can't turn off the MWL.

Has anyone got any ideas as to what could be causing the MWL to come on and go off at random?

Many thanks in advance for your help.

I would bet that the user is a member of a hunt group or has a couple of keys on the phone that are members of the hunt group.
When a hunt group gets a message the first key that is programmed will cause the first phone the key appears on to light.

Dry Aquaman

I would agree with DryAquaman but the message waiting type would still be a callback if VM is setting the message and the VM is setup correctly.

Additionally, it is unlikely that the Dialled MWI would turn off by itself without being done intentionally. (Although this would fit into DryAquaman's theory}

You have not told us what type of VM. As such we are assuming Embedded. Please confirm.

You have not told us the SW level of the 3300 - Please do so.

With the information provided, the most likely scenario is that the VM port that is setting the MWI is not in the VM Hunt group. With an MXe II you could have up to 30 ports programmed. Please verify:
- Number of ports assigned
- Number of ports programmed
- Number of ports in VM Hunt Group

If they do not match, please indicate where they are different.

Hello there,

Thanks for your responses. Sorry about the delay in my response, I've not been in the office.

The user experiencing the issue is not a member of any group. But he does have secretarial keys set up on the phone, could these be causing the issue?

All VM ports are programmed, assigned and in the VM hunt group.

Software level of the system is 10.2.1.13

Many thanks.

Sorry, I missed out the VM system is Embedded.
