Can someone confirm me if in BC12, the QSIG protocol implementation supports Message Waiting Indicator ?
We could not find anything in the manuals.

Which other non-poprietary protocol would support MWI ?

Thanks

And how about DPNSS ?( we want to give MD users access to a voice mail system on the Nortel ).

Have a look at thread806-779659 .
Answer seems to be no.

I have MWI working on a BC11 SP13 PABX on ECMA Qsig from a CYCOS MRS integrated Messaging system.

Hi Megglesfield,

Could you please explain how did you connect the cycos to
md100, using TLU76/1 for qsig.

Do you use a separate serial connection with NIU for the
message waiting?

could you please provide the below:
rocap
rodap
roddp
parnum: if any for message waiting.

Thanks in advance
nandu

Nandu,

No we do not hve a serial connection for message waiting, it is all done on the Qsig link to the Cycos MRS. Here are the route parameters we are using.

The Message waiting parameter on Cycos MRS should be MWI/nnnn where nnnn is the extension number.

Hi Magglesfield,

Thanks you very much for the valuable information.
I suppose, External destination 9000 for accessing the MRS.
So when you dial 9000 the MRS responds the call.

In the MRS 9000 is an extension.

ED 64 is for what?

Did you try message waiting analog phone?

I did all the above, I am just wondering if anything else is missing on the MD110.

Thanks
Nandu

Nandu,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

9000 is an MRS extension for picking up voice mails.
ED 64 is a destination to the MRS voice/fax mail boxes. I presently have extensions in the range 5000-5999, so I have MRS extensions in the range 6000-6999, so the Voice/fax mail box for extension 5423 is 6423.

By ASPAP 88 MWI can be set on analogue telephones to an interuppted dial-tone.
The MD settings are all you need for MWI over ECMA Qsig. What version of software are you running on MRS, I am running 5.12.

Hi Megglesfield,

thanks for the info.
I notice my MD110 is BC10 and I am upgrading to
BC11.The remote end is not MRS system, it is meridian voice mail on ETSI qsig and supports MWI on qsig.
If your setup is working,my setup also should work technically unless MRS does something specific to the MD110
MWI.
I let you know after my upgrade and further tests.

Many thanks
nandu

Hi nandumd110 ,
I have the same scenario right-now and I am wondering if you were succesful in integrating your voicemail via QSIG to your MD110.
